Brazos County Health District Launches New Pool Inspection Program
Focus on Education, Safety, and Support for Permit Holders
College Station, TX – The Brazos County Health District has officially launched its new Pool Inspection Program, following the city of College Station’s adoption of a comprehensive pool ordinance on May 8, 2025. The ordinance, which became effective on May 18, 2025, establishes new safety standards and permitting requirements for all non-residential pools within the city.
This initiative prioritizes education and collaboration with pool operators. As we are launching the pool inspection program, our focus will be on education and collaboration. We understand that compliance may take time, so we will work closely with permit holders to provide guidance and support in meeting all necessary requirements. Our goal is to ensure that everyone is fully informed and prepared for a successful and compliant operation.
Inspections will evaluate a variety of safety and operational criteria, including:
- Secure and properly functioning pool enclosures and gates
- Required safety equipment and components
- Overall water quality and sanitation standards
The Brazos County Health District serves as the designated regulatory authority for the new ordinance. All non-residential pools and spas must be permitted. Operators are reminded to submit their permit applications as soon as possible.
Permit applications can be submitted online at: https://brazos.inspect2go33.com/.
Each pool or spa on a property requires a separate application. After requesting the application link, please check your Spam folder and mark the email as safe to ensure you receive future updates.
